I see you’ve posted this on a few other blogs so I shouldn’t engage but Good Glaven, you’d be off thieving and killing if you didn’t think you were being watched all the time? Am I glad you believe!

There also seems to be a pretty bad misunderstanding of the nature of the Holocaust: The history of European antisemitism is entwined with Christianity - Many not only thought that God was watching but that God approved. Hitler frequently used religious language when talking about his hatred of the Jews (and in a related piece of religion inspired hatred he outlawed atheist and freethinking groups). This shameless rewriting of history to blame atheists for something that undeniably sprang forth from very old and well documented Christian ideas is just disgusting. “Irrefutable response” my arse.

I would highly suggest for you, and any one else interested to read the book ““The Devil’s Delusion: Atheism and its Scientific Pretensions.” by self-professed secular Jew and mathematics/philosophies teacher David Berlinski.
This tells the story of a Jew who was forced to dig his own grave prior to being shot by a German soldier. Prior to being shot, the old Jewish man advised the German that “God is watching what you are doing.” The Jewish gentleman pointed what i think is the real problem with atheism. “If you have the time please check the book out

Personally my hope is that Obama wins, but proves controversial enough to split the Dems in the process, yet survives by appealing to independents, thereby creating a legitimate third force in US politics from the presidency.

I can but dream. It’d've been more likely had Clinton won the nomination and alienated the non-left-wingers.
