Public ’support longer copyright’
We do? Seems these people have been offered a choice between ‘protect musicans for 50 years’ and ‘protect musicians for 95 years’. There are of course other options.A shorter, but renewable, term of copyright would mean that works that were no longer making the artist any money (which is the vast majority) after a period of time could be allowed to fall into the public domain, while artists who felt they still had something to gain from could renew.
I somewhat suspect a more Black & White choice was presented in the poll.
Logically, it works out.
Ok, you’re going to like this. Issue 3 is a provision to allow more slot machines in Ohio. It’s also constantly advertised in conjuncture with education and I finally heard the reasoning from the TV the other night.
1) Surrounding states have legal gambling.
2) People go from Ohio to gamble there.
3) THEY LOSE MONEY! THAT MONEY DISAPPEARS FROM THE OHIO ECONOMY!
4) If we have more gambling here, that money will stay in Ohio!
5) Which may eventually mean that more money gets to our schools!
6) Education! Anyone who opposes hates freedom!
