Lib Dems criticise government power plans

without comments

“The Government is all too aware that the UK can have an energy mix which keeps the lights on and secures supply that does not include nuclear power.”

Technically true, but that would need a HUUUUGE reliance on coal and oil. Which the conventional wisdom seems to say is bad.

Interesting Nuclear fact: Coal power stations release far more radioactive material into the air than nuclear stations, which releases almpst none.

A new kind of hero…

without comments

I kid you not, I had a dream about a new super-hero. His name is Lost-Man. His power? He has the ability to understand Lost!He leaps into the scene with a new theory each week. Now, I understand this next point does not relate totally to the current plot, but it is the actual dialogue from my dream.”Wait Lost fans! Remember that crisp packet Jack was eating in the first episode? Well, take the name of that packet…. translate it into French…. take the first and last letters…turn them into numbers…add them together and I think we can see where we all are here.”

I don’t even watch it that much….

Grammar for the Time Traveller

without comments

There’s a general problem with time travel; existing tenses simply aren’t good enough. Past, Present and Future don’t cover the problems of time travel. The way I see it, we need something to distingish between the overall timeline and personal timelines. To make things worse, we’re not just dealing with first-person, second-person and third-person, we also need to consider past and future versions of all of those. It’s crazy.
